NMWA Nights Bash

Step into a surreal and mysterious world at the annual NMWA Nights Bash, inspired by the National Museum of Women in the Art’s special exhibition Uncanny. Embrace the unexpected as you explore the exhibition and wander the galleries. Experience pop-up performances by Cirque deLuxe, a circus-style entertainment company, that bring the uncanny to life through acrobatics, movement, and performance. Create a beaded pin to bedazzle your outfit, enjoy spotlight tours of Uncanny, and listen to a set by DJ Heat, the Washington Mystics’ resident DJ. Come dressed in your interpretation of “the uncanny” for a chance to win NMWA prizes! Consider these prompts for inspiration:

Embrace a surreal aesthetic by incorporating optical illusions, unexpected pairings, and dreamlike elements into your outfit. Channel a mysterious vibe with shadowy, enigmatic tones, enhanced by dramatic textures and moody colors. Unleash your eccentric side by showcasing your quirkiest and boldest self through avant-garde designs and playful creativity. Finally, transform your look by reimagining your identity with layers, masks, or otherworldly details.

Two drink tickets are included with admission; additional beverages and food are available for purchase.

Registration required. Tickets will go on sale on May 7 at 10 am. General admission: $25. Students, seniors, DC residents: $22. Members: $20. Explorer Members ($180+) and above: always admitted free. If sold out, please email tickets@nmwa.org to reserve your ticket.
